Yahoo headlines - why have they deteriorated to the point of mindless gossip or biased political reporting?

Yahoo headlines used to be informative and interesting. Now they are like today's one "How do I get over him?" - what sort of dummie added that to the headline list. You are getting banal and empty, yahoo!


The other main headlines are heavily biased antiwar, antiBush, anticonservatism. Even if I agree with some of those positions, I would prefer to decide myself, instead of Yahoo (the provider of the news here) deciding before me and trying to bias.


Yahoo headline/story writers, this is a call to pull the tatters of your shameful journalistic selves together and try and improve - won't be hard since you have gotten so bad in the past year or so.


Having said that, I really like using the Yahoo. Of course I could just change, but speaking out is the only way to let Yahoo know (this is the only way to contact Yahoo with your opinion).

We are being dumbed down because Ruppert Murdock owns all the media stations, such as Yahoo, Fox News, The Wall street Journal, and hundreds or thousands more. Watch "Outfoxed: Ruppert Murdock's war on Journalism."





Fair and Balanced is defined as new fan-dangled Black and white Biases and Opinions for purely one side. A huge amount of college and graduate students are writing papers and even thesis on this news media approach.
Reply:Because people are basically stupid and love that kind of thing. The next rising generation of Americans is by far the most uneducated, stupid bunch of lightweights ever. Look at the emerging entertainment, it embraces racism, worships violence, discounts meaningful thought. People sometimes talk about the wide gap between the rich and poor, the real gap is between those who have an education and those who are just mindless nimrods who cannot even work in fast food. People like mindless drivel which is little more than fanciful entertainment press releases. Its important to them to know about Brittany and Idol and that kind of childish, mindless crap. The world belongs to the bright and the future is good for them because there are millions of droopy pants, meth heads out there to mop floors for cupcakes and pretzels.
Reply:I agree with Tom W, although I would have worded it a bit more subtle. America is dumbing down. I wonder if Yahoo knows that the majority of the people it needs to appeal to are the American Idol types, and have to keep the news short and simple. I do know that MSNBC is worse yet. I commend you on your observation and I hope you continue to look for answers. And I hope you continue to demand more than what is put out there for the simple masses.
