Yahoo Messenger not having Windows Live in the pull down menu.?

Once again, have both the newest installments/versions of Windows and Yahoo. The pull down menu does not have Windows Live. It only has Yahoo and LCS. You gave me this link http://messenger.yahoo.com/download.php; its the same version that I download 3 times. I still got this message:





System: A user on Windows Live™ (MSN) Messenger wants to add you to his or her Messenger List. To start sharing instant messages, you'll first need to sign up for the Yahoo! Messenger Beta program at http://messenger.yahoo.com/partners_msn....





Now, on my Window Live Messenger, I get my Yahoo friends but not the another away around. Because I think the pull down menu when I adding my friends only has Yahoo and LCS not Windows Live.

what that popup is trying to say is that a WLM user has put through a request to add you to their friends list... quite normal as one would just accept or decline the invitation... but there's currently a problem... to accept or decline you need to be part of the partner program, the one in the system notice you mentioned... BUT the yahoo page no longer exists...

which prompts to download the latest version, despite having it already, so atm there appears to be no way a user can join the partner program from Yahoo's side and as such no obvious way to decline / accept the request and stop the system notice





Yahoo users who had previously joined the program still have access to and can add WLM users, the option to add them is available from the drop down menu (Yahoo, WLM, LCS) but if you hadn't signed up prior you will only have Yahoo and LCS.





it seems to be ID related NOT version related, I can reproduce the above on two systems using both v8.0.0.716 and v8.0.0.682

just wanted to let you know it looks like the WLM Yahoo! beta partners program is back up and running again (as @ 21 Sept)... lets get in quick before they break it again ;)

Reply:I kept getting that message from someone on Windows Live. I finally got an email from them %26amp; used their hotmail info to add them from my end first. Now she's on my list %26amp; we can chat just fine. LCS is the other name for the Windows Live. It may mean Live Chat Session. If you don't know who it is, email all your friends on Hotmail and/or MSN to find out who it is.
Reply:I am having the same problem too. Does this mean when need to sign up for a yahoo account to use it. I already have an account but do we need to use a new one??? Maybe its a bug and they will fix it soon
