Yahoo Messenger VIRUS, WORM, BUG? This is not a joke, this is the real thing folks, yahoo staff, HELP!?

this is a message to all! if you get a message or offline that has 3 smilies and then a geocities link, DO NOT OPEN IT! it is a virus or something that is going around yahoo messenger, this is no joke people, earlier today i got a message from a friend with 3 emoticons %26amp; a geocities link, and naturally i clicked on it, well, it said the page doesnt exist, i was like ok,didnt think about it, well, just a few minutes ago, yahoo kicked me off and sent a message to everyone on my list, 3 of the people i was talking to said they got the message with the link in it, so IT IS A VIRUS OR WORM OR SOME OTHER BUG! DO NOT CLICK ON IT, DELETE IT, hopefully yahoo will fix it! please report it to yahoo, as i am going to do if you get it! THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR ANOTHER STUPID MESSAGE THAT GOES AROUND ON YAHOO MESSENGER, LIKE (IF YOU DONT REPOST THIS, YAHOO IS GOING TO START CHARGING TO USE YAHOO MESSENGER) THIS IS REAL FOLKS! NOW 3 OF MY FRIENDS HAVE IT!!!!!!!

Reply:Yes, it's a worm. There seems to be many variants of that worm. Two friends of mine have caught a vietnamese version of it. No kidding, it sends text in vietnamese with a link to a website with some more vietnamese text and all it does is try to infect the computers of those who visit the site.


McAfee (virus scan) can remove it,

I've read someone removed it with adaware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaw... so that might be another option. By the way, your anti virus might be outdated.....
