Why did yahoo photo force us to start using a photo client?

I can't upload a picture on my yahoo profile. Foolish move on yahoo's part. Profile pictures were a nice feature. I feel this feature has been moved by yahoo because they don't know how to control Adult photo's. Another one of yahoo's lack of knowledge. And as far as finding this form to fill out any questions was a task in its self. I was very disappointed to find questions about anything and everything besides pertaining to yahoo. Yahoo forum should only be about yahoo, not about 911 and Saddam, about pregnacy questions, etc. How childish, obviously rediculas questions like that are from adolesents. I was under the impression Yahoo wasn't suppose to be used by anyone under 18.

Why did yahoo photo force us to start using a photo client?
#1: Yahoo bought "flickr" in 2005 because it was gaining popularity very fast, thus becoming one of Yahoo! photos' biggest competitors. Because it doesn't make much sense to keep 2 similar services running, Yahoo is shutting down Yahoo! photos in September in favor of flickr.

#2: Yahoo! questions %26amp; answers is not for adults only, you can sign up yourself if you are 13 yrs. old. And when parents open a family account, even younger children are able to participate. This is stated in the TOS, so users should know what awaits them in this forum.

What is Yahoo doing to the Chat-Rooms?

ok.. Yahoo take 2 years to respond before they can assist you. I am a paying Customer and i cant even get into chatrooms. Its been like it for 7 days now and you cant get into a room. is Yahoo Ditching Chats or is it Development causing the slowdown with the Chatroom Implimentation for Windows Vista's Yahoo Instant Messenger?

It would be nice if yahoo can make a announcement telling everybody wtf is up with the chatrooms. All Yahoo Messenger Users deserve the same respect as everyone else. Surely it cant take 7 days to fix the Yahoo Servers or change them about? maybe they broke something i dont know, But it will be nice if they could make a announcement to let us al know what is up with the chatrooms. I cant even talk to friends in chat due to this issue and its annoying me so much im thinking of just quitting Yahoo.

Why does Yahoo force "Yahoo Mail" users to download Yahoo Messenger in order to get the audible alert feature?

I use Yahoo Mail as my primary email account at home.

I don't use any form of Instand Messenging (IM) such as AOL.

I want a feature on my Yahoo Mail to give me an audible alert each time I receive an email when I'm on the web. I understand Yahoo has this feature but I'm told I must download Yahoo Messenger in order to get this Mail Feature. Why is that neccessary?

Why don't they just give that feature to users of yahoo email?

If I don't want to use Yahoo Messenger does that mean I can't have the email alert feature?

Why does Yahoo force "Yahoo Mail" users to download Yahoo Messenger in order to get the audible alert feature?
it's not a question of Forcing... Yahoo mail simply doesn't have that feature. Suggest it who knows they may put that in the next patch for yahoo. If ya want something ya gotta ask or how will all the computer geeks at yahoo gonna know?

The only program i know of that does have the audio alerts is microsoft out look which comes with most computers you just have to set it up... and you can also set up your Outlook to check your yahoo mail :D

Does Yahoo offer an advertising program similar to Google's AdSense? I'm interested in monetizing my website.

Google has an advertising program called AdSense and if you let them run ads on your website, as well as Google Search boxes, you earn small amounts of money, depending on how popular your site is, or how many clicks or "buys" from clicks originated on your site occur after a month or so. I wonder if Yahoo! has the same program. I have my websites hosted through Yahoo, and I even have used the Yahoo Sitebuilder software to design some of them, so I would rather use Yahoo publisher's advertising solutions. I tried looking around in Yahoo, but couldn't find any information regarding this. I just wonder if such program exists. I would go with Yahoo instead of with Google, but if Yahoo doesn't have one, hey, I go with Google. Thanks for the response. %26lt;%26lt; www.TrellesWeb.com %26gt;%26gt;

Yahoo has a similar program, with almost the same mechanics as Adsense called the Yahoo Publisher Network. It is still in beta but you can apply here:

Your Mail Server is Offline Now.

Yahoo servers are updating the NEW Mail that replaces Beta Mail. Expect lag or

outages. I doubt if some or all Yahoo Mail functions work at all.

Wait up to 30 days when all updates are complete. Yahoo Mail is not just one server.

Each Server gets all updates by sometimes taking it off the air. ( Have you ever put an

operating system on a PC? Sort off like that but bigger.)

Then having to transfer each an every file back to all accounts.

Yahoo stole my money and my domain!?

Cannot believe what Yahoo has just done to me. I signed up for a domain name 2 days back coz I believed they were the most reliable people on the net for F***sakes!

I applied for url name: www.yahooclothes.com (yahoo domain order number 77673897).

And I set up 2 email addresses with my domain as well. And today I try to check my mail from the domain and notice that Yahoo have deleted the whole mailbox! What the f*** I thought and checked the url and guess what?!!! It doesn't exist and when I tried to sign in up again it says it already exists!

I used yahoo to sign up the url www.yahooclothes.com coz i thought that since its from yahoo domains I can get it only if its legally ok with them. If they had trouble with someone else having a url with the worlds "yahoo" then they should have mailed and told me to withdraw it and informed me but did they? No! They just stole my freaking money and url and they still got my Credit Card details which I can't remove coz I cant access it!

Yahoo stole my money and my domain!?
I'd advise you to contact them so that they can help:

Yahoo 360 Blog Page Warning Notice From Yahoo Administrative?

Has this happend to you?

Can someone enlighten me and send some feedback on this issue and or related issues to this matter?.. Please and Thank You!! ......

Yahoo administrative sent me a warning notice email stated that I violated TOS on my yahoo 360 blog page and threatening to terminate my account. The Yahoo administrative email notice didn't pinpoint where the wrong doing was made, lefted wondering what the issue is and other thing is I'm not sure on why I was sent the notice... I have my Yahoo 360 blog page default set to mature content even though it is very mild compared to other Yahoo 360 pages I have come across. So what the hell???

Yahoo 360 Blog Page Warning Notice From Yahoo Administrative?
It probably happened because someone reported your site. Even if you set it to mature content, if someone was offended, they can report it and you can get that type of a warning. It also does not matter what OTHER 360 pages are like -- if someone sees and reports yours, that is the issue.
Reply:IT HAPPENED TO ME BUT IN Y! ANSWERS. YOU HAVE TO CLARIFY THE MATTER TO YAHOO! GOODLUCK. SEEMS THEY ARE PRETTY INEPT BUNCH.

Any of these ways will put a Yahoo! shortcut icon on your desktop.

To put a Yahoo! shortcut icon on your desktop, go to Yahoo! home page http://www.yahoo.com/ , at the top of your screen click File, a menu drops down, put your mouse cursor on Send, a menu pops up, click Shortcut to Desktop.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! home page, right click on a blank space, a menu pops up, click Create Shortcut, a pop up asks "Do you want to put a shortcut to this website on your desktop", click Yes.

Another way: Right click on desktop %26gt; point to New and on the menu that pops up click Shortcut %26gt; in the box that opens type www.mail.yahoo.com or type or copy and paste http://www.yahoo.com/ %26gt; click Next and in the next box that opens type Yahoo! and click Finish.

Yahoo Domestic and International Email Addresses?

If someone has an email address like:

theirnamegoeshere@yahoo.com.cn (this is a yahoo email address in China)

Can someone else have the following email address?

theirnamegoeshere@yahoo.com (A US yahoo email address with the same name but no "cn" at the end)

or...

Does Yahoo recognize that this simple mistake in missing the country code at the end could cause great problems and have not allowed this to happen?

Please provide me a link to the proof on Yahoo's website. I was unable to find it.

Thank you.

Yahoo Domestic and International Email Addresses?
I have a .co.uk Address.

I just Experimented with a second mail address and I got message not sent!

Dave@yahoo.com is not the same as Dave@yahoo.co.uk despite being able to log in yahoo.com if you had a co.uk address.

Why is yahoo deleting accounts?

What the hell is going on with yahoo. I went to log in to an e-mail account I have had for over 5 years and got this message:

"Yahoo! account deactivated

You no longer have access to any Yahoo! services because your Yahoo! account *******@yahoo.com has been deactivated due to violation of the Yahoo! Terms of Service or other Yahoo! policies"

What the hell? I have no idea what I did and they delete 5 years worth of my saved address book, my fantasy sports teams, and e-mail?

Outside of the spam box I just created, I think I am done with yahoo! Hotmail is just as good and doesn't pull this nazi bullsh it!

Why is yahoo deleting accounts?
Not quite the way it should be I think.

It is all tied into this site and others. If you use bad language a lot or say certain phrases a lot then the computer program gives you the boot. Yes it it a program and not a person that does this.

I have nothing other than yahoo services in Yahoo email now. I found out awhile beck this was happening so I made sure everyone I knew had another address for me and now if they dump me they just dump themselves and I can just use another name and do it again.

I do not know what Yahoo is trying to accomplish butr it would seem to me that people would begin to go other places and stop using Yahoo.

If Yahoo accepts Bill Gates $44.6 bn offer to buy Yahoo how much should we in Yahoo Answers get?

According to today's news Microsoft have offered $44.6bn to take over Yahoo to improve its image. According to the BBC, a British industrialist has stated "the bid smacks of desperation by microsoft who have consistently failed to achieve a meaningful on line presence". We all know Yahoo has achieved worldwide success with its Yahoo Answers service which totally beats the competition like Google, Wikianswers, Answerbag and Lycos IQ. If bid goes through therefore, do you think everybody in Yahoo Answers should therefore be rewarded by this offer from one of world's richest men to buy us and if so how much should we each get. Would one USA cent per point scored by each Yahoo Answer member, which would mean $2.50c on reaching Level Two and increasing amounts for reaching higher levels be a fair payment for all of us creating the meaningful on line presence we provide which Microsoft now wants to acquire?

If Yahoo accepts Bill Gates $44.6 bn offer to buy Yahoo how much should we in Yahoo Answers get?
Yes. It is apparent the reason Microsoft want to acquire Yahoo is because it has "a meaningfull presence on the internet" So Microsoft is indeed willing to part with $44,600,000,000,000 for us to be part of them. All of us in Yahoo Answers have surely made a big contribution to the success of Yahoo and that could be why Yahoo is more attractive to Bill Gates than Google or AOL etc..? So we should be rewarded. I go along with 1 cent per point per member, which means we get 2 cents per answer and 10 cents for every Best Answer. This would be just small change for Bill Gates but I'm sure many who work hard on their Answers would welcome a bit of extra cash for helping make Yahoo such a success story - lol .
Reply:we made them good and now we get nothing...well, maybe we will all be blessed with a few violations...
Reply:Why should we get anything? How much stock do you own in Yahoo? I don't own any, so I don't expect anything.
Reply:nope. And instead of buying a vowel, go to the Punctuation store. That was officially the longest run-on ever!
Reply:Ha, ha. You wish :-)
Reply:I think we should get a share.
Reply:a discount on a new coumputer would be nice!!
Reply:We should be given $44.6 billion Yahoo Answer Points.

How can we expect something real?
Reply:oh no and ruin it like they did with VISTA
Reply:Bill Gates didn't get rich by giving his money away for no good reason.
Reply:We should get £2 for every point we have :)
Reply:if you buy a share its $31.00.half the cost of my P.C lol.

Why does yahoo continually delete answers before the viewers have a chance to read them?

What kind of modulators does yahoo have?

Does yahoo think thye are in China where they have To kiss up to the powers that be, and cub freedom of speech?

Does Yahoo not know that freedom of speech is a basic right and for them to delete innocent answers / questions is contrary to freedom?

Do they not understand that most viewers are adult enough to decide if an answer is suitable for them?

Should only ask "Dick and Jane type questions and give Dick and Jane type answers on here?

example;

See Yahoo go dick. run yahoo run. Tom have you been to yahoo today. yahoo has big stick they must be evil, run tom , run dick, run jane.

Yahoo censoring Ron Paul.?

Why does Yahoo! chose not to list Ron Paul on the list of presidential contenders? I posted the same question earlier and did get some amazing answers, thank you. Now that we have come up with our own ideas on why Yahoo does not list Ron Paul, lets ask Yahoo why. If you are upset by this then I strongly suggest giving Yahoo your opinions. Maybe we can flood them with enough complaints that they will do something about it, it worked for ABC! The link is posted below. Please be polite when you address Yahoo. As someone stated in a different thread, those of us supporting Ron Paul also represent Ron Paul so don't make him look like a jackass. Be assertive but not rude, please!

Those of you out there who do not support Ron Paul should still be upset that the mainstream media is using censorship to protect its corporate elites. If they chose not to list the person you want to be president, after winning a national debate, you would be upset too

http://cgi.yahoo.com/bin/feedback?t=expe...

Yahoo censoring Ron Paul.?
Yeah, Yahoo has been pretty useless lately on this issue. Bias shows through, even if it's not obvious. It shouldn't matter whether anyone thinks he "has a chance" or not, because we're so early in the process that no one knows who has or doesn't have a chance. Anyone who remembers the elections of Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan knows that neither one of these "had a chance" and yet did get elected. Front-runners don't usually last through the whole election. Relative unknowns often come through. But I don't think Ron Paul is actually unknown. He may not be well-known by the mainstream, but he's got a pretty solid group of supporters nationwide - the kind of people you can build a campaign from. He reminds me of where Howard Dean was at this time last year. So, I do think he has a chance - especially among the current Republican candidates.

Actually, that may be why the press is ignoring him. If they admit that Ron Paul won the debate, they admit that there were nine other people that they've been promoting as big names that turned out to be duds.
Reply:Yahoo only listed a limited number of probable candidates to give way to its advertisements. Thus, many candidates prominently Ron Paul was omitted prompting many people to react.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know if Ron Paul will likely win.
Reply:Yes it's true, he won the republican debate according to MSNBC polls, but the mainstream outlets are ignoring him

We're discussing this situation here:
Reply:They did finally put him on. If all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing (Edmund Burke), then evil is not going to fare too well against us. Rock on, Paul supporters!
Reply:I have to admit I hadn't a clue to who Ron Paul was until now. You just educated me, I went to his website and after reading his thoughts, I'm thinking, where have I been. This is the next man we should have for President. I would gladly donate to his funds just to see a man like him, with some common sense get in. I'm going to work here and start telling all my e-mail friends to go to his website.

Thank you.
Reply:Yahoo and all the other media is censoring Ron Paul. There are at least 6 of the 10 candidates who do not have a chance of winning Ron Paul is the only one who is being left out.
Reply:He's got my vote and I will write him in if I have to. At least I will have voted for the best person for the job.
Reply:I believe Yahoo is deliberately censoring Ron Paul. There is absolutely no reason why Yahoo can't list all of the candidates. It is misleading and if Yahoo wants to be reputable they should represent all of them. The audacity for any institution to think they can already narrow the field is outrageous. I've had the same frustration with ABC news. They deleted close to 1000 comments (most of them favorable) on a Ron Paul story and are forbidding any new posts.
Reply:Yahoo is a corporation owned by wealthy people who are getting rich from global "free trade", military adventurism, and taking advantage of the influx of low wage earning illegal aliens. Of course they want to marginalize and ignore Ron Paul. His platform directly threatens their increasing riches and their stranglehold on political power. If you ever believed or wanted to believe that "Mr. Smith" could go to Washington and make it a place where the decent people of this nation could have their interests addressed, support Rep. Dr. Ron Paul.
Reply:hmmmmmm.

Dont know much about this Ron Paul but i have heard of him.

cant say much.
Reply:I'd like to hear a response to this also. Ron Paul has consistently rated very high,if not at the lead of most recent polls. This has happened at site after site.
Reply:Obviously they are uneducated about the very lawmwker who

has always voted to keep the internet free.

Or, in the alternative they are just another media outlet using their platform to further their own wishes to the detriment of freedom.
Reply:Ron Paul is one of the few honest members of Congress. He is a man of integraty and isn't bought and paid for by corporatations or wealthy individuals. Yahoo is a major corporation and probably hopes like many in the power structure of the American empire that the common man doesn't learn who Ron Paul is. If more Americans new about Ron Paul, his campaign would really take off. Keep up the pressure on Yahoo so that Ron Paul gets his chance.
Reply:Maybe they are doing it because his campaign workers and supporters are whining all over the place and spamming the Internet. That won't get you more support.
Reply:Ron Paul in my opinion is the best candidate running for the office of president. He has integrity, has honesty, and will not bow down to the mainstream media and Neo-con globalists. Yahoo and other media outlets are Censoring Congressman Paul because they are afraid.

He (Paul) is founding fathers material and is one of the last great and true patriots.

I consider it my duty as an American citizen to vote for him.
Reply:It should be noted that:

Yahoo! has a page advertising "Full Coverage: Presidential Election 2008"

There is a link purporting to lead to "all Republican candidates"

Yahoo! includes candidates who have been less successful than Ron Paul at fundraising and in public opinion polls, such as Duncan Hunter, Sam Brownback and Mike Huckabee. At last report, Dr. Paul had almost as much cash on hand as Tom Tancredo.

When I phoned Yahoo! six hours ago, the rep assured me they had received a lot of calls and were fixing the website. So far, they haven't. How many times a day does Yahoo! News update their website?

These facts indicate dishonesty on the part of Yahoo! News election coverage. They promise "Full Coverage" of all the candidates, and even include "minor" candidates with no chance of winning. The only candidate they leave out is the one with the most loyal, enthusiastic following: Ron Paul.
Reply:I think you should have ended your question before the last couple of sentences. In my opinion, saying that Paul's absence from the Yahoo list of candidates is related to a media conspiracy is distracting and counterproductive. The real cause of this problem is much more simple and much more boring - the people working for Yahoo who are responsible for maintaining that particular page are only as careful as they have to be about the information they provide. They aren't going to lose sleep over candidates who aren't currently one of the favorites and aren't well funded at the moment. So as you said, be assertive and not rude, and we will overcome the apathy toward Ron Paul at Yahoo and others in the media.
Reply:In order for Ron Paul to be censored by anyone, first he would have to pose a threat to someone. I sincerely doubt any of the major candidates are concerned about him winning the nomination.
Reply:Don't know about Yahoo, but as a Fellow Texan, Ron Paul,

has a zero chance, which is why he has no traction.
Reply:Yahoo doesn't sensor based on that kind of stuff. It really doesn't matter because Ron Paul has the chance of an ice cube in the Sahara Desert of even getting his party's nomination let alone the presidency. Get over him.
Reply:Its not censorship...Yahoo is a private comapny that has the right to support or promote who it wishes...i would imagine that Ron Paul will not be a candidate for the Ballot in the vast majority of states...that is what you should be conderned about. Who cares what a media outlet suppports if you can't even vote for the person in your state?

Yahoo Messenger - IM From One Account On Two Different Computers?

We have an account with AT%26amp;T/SBC. We have downloaded Yahoo Messenger on our home computer. We have setup our Yahoo Messenger based on our Yahoo account.

I have also downloaded Yahoo Messenger at work. What I want to be able to do is add my wife as a Contact and be able to chat with her from work. I guess my question is, can this be done from the same Yahoo ID (account) or do I need to have two separate Yahoo ID's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rick

Yahoo Messenger - IM From One Account On Two Different Computers?
You and your wife would need seperate Yahoo! accounts.
Reply:Your wife needs to have her own account. You will add her new Yahoo ID to your Messenger list and you'll be able to chat with her.
Reply:You need two different IDs because you can't log in with the same ID at two different location. You can try and yahoo will give you an error that you have been logged off as you have logged on some other computer. I don't think creating a new ID is a big problem. Simply sign up.

ive had geocites for five years and never had any problems with them. maybe you could write to geocites from the help link and ask for assistance.

Yahoo technical support is useless. Here is my question and their response:?

My Question:

I pay for the yahoo personal address package. For some weeks now I have been unable to "Manage Personal Address Accounts". I connect to mail and navigate to Options / Mail Addresses

and then select the link "Manage Personal Address Accounts". This link seems to take me to the wrong place - it takes me to a registration form for Yahoo mail Plus, rather than the correct screen where I can maintain my personal addresses. This issue is urgent as one of my personal addresses needs to be reassigned to a new Yahoo id. I am currently paying for a service that I can't use.

And their response:

Hello Mike,

If you're unable to locate "Mail Upgrades", please sign into your Yahoo! Mail account and point your browser to:

Yahoo 360 picture isn't working for Yahoo answers..?

The other day I changed my default picture on Yahoo 360. I have my 360 picture set up on Yahoo answers so that it shows. After I deleted my old picture and made a new default one it kept showing the old picture on Yahoo answers for awhile then eventually changed to nothing, like it was blank. Now I have it set on my avatar. But anyway.. Is there something I can do to fix it? Did this happen to anyone else?

Even when I go to edit my info and I have a choice of picking no picture, yahoo 360, or my avatar it doesn't even show my yahoo 360 picture on there like it usta. It's just blank space.

Yahoo 360 picture isn't working for Yahoo answers..?
It's happening to me too!!!

There's probably something wrong with the Yahoo Answers people these days. I'll give them a couple of days to fix it...

[that's why i don't have a picture as of right now.]
Reply:apparently, they have discontinued this function in their program. no new avatars from 360, it seems. no announcements have been made. kind of willy, nilly and it has happened before.

it likely has much to do when major political events happen. the pennsylvania election will be happening soon and that is likely the reason. just a little censorship to control things.

Spam does yahoo really care?

Ok yahoo wants to fight spam but yet 90% of all spam i get in my inbox is from a yahoo.com address you can't block yahoo.com in your block address list that would be silly and i don't think they let you so why isn't yahoo doing any thing to syop the spammers from using yahoo email service i'm sure that yahoo can see the large amount or emials going out from accounts and look into it and go gee look a spammer and delet and ban them from yahoo. so in closeing does yahoo care about internal spamming or just out side spamming? and will this question last or be deleted by some super poster/ admin brown noser? only time will tell.

Spam does yahoo really care?
i dont think so. yahoo just wants 2 try 2 stand up 2 google. so it sez t is a super spammer blocker. but it isnt. google mail is. use that instead
Reply:I think that they do care but what Yahoo should do is do what Hotmail does. You can block out everything except stuff from your contacts and also safe senders.

Then, just scroll through junk mail and pick out what mail's safe, and then add them to your address book.
Reply:yeah there stuck up ***** that **** **** **** **** ****** **** **** ***** **** **** **** suck
Reply:well maybe yahoo is getting confused wit hthe food and program protecting system

Keep yahoo mail as "New" when using mac Mail?

I recently helped a woman with some computer stuff (mac). I set up a pop account for her Yahoo Plus email in mac's Mail program so she could email photos from iphoto with her yahoo address. She only uses the Mail program to send photos directly from iphoto, so she still uses yahoo.com to do everything else related to email. However, every time she opens Mail to send photos it imports all her new yahoo mail, which causes everything to be marked as read in her yahoo.com inbox. Is there any way to keep emails marked as unread in her yahoo account until she physically opens them there?

I think it's a yahoo thing because I have a gmail account set up with mac Mail and even if I read them in Mail, they are still marked as new in my gmail.com inbox.

Thanks for reading, I appreciate it!

Keep yahoo mail as "New" when using mac Mail?
You have instructed Mac's Mail Program, under Server Settings, to automatically download new messages when the program starts.

Instruct Mac's Mail Program to NOT GET new messages when she opens the program.

If you are unable to do that, place an incorrect POP MAIL Server address in the Mac Mail program, creating an error, making retrieving email from Yahoo impossible.

Yahoo! Mail Classic - cannot quick-add others' e-mails?

This used to be a really useful feature in Yahoo! Mail Classic in which you could choose to quickly add someone's e-mail from the same screen you'd read that person's e-mail - to your address book.

Whatever happened to this feature? Why was such a useful feature removed from Yahoo Mail Classic?

It is clear that the All-New Yahoo Mail has this feature but Yahoo Mail Classic no longer has it. Nor does Yahoo Mail Classic any longer have the feature where you can add e-mails after replying to a message.

If someone from Yahoo staff sees this, could you please answer? Thank you.

Yahoo! Mail Classic - cannot quick-add others' e-mails?
Adding contacts

To add contacts click on add besides contacts button on the left panel add the required data and the id and click on save

Just send a single mail to all those ids and they will be automatically be stored in ur contact book

From the contacts option u can edit the respective ids

You've got lots of ways to do this from different places:

Click Add Contact in the upper-left corner of your address book. Click Save when you're done.

When you get an email, just click Add in the header area of the message to add the sender's email address to your address book.

Or, reply to the email first (or send a fresh one to a new address). Then, after clicking Send, you'll see a list of "Recipients not in your Contacts", where you can check any contacts you'd like to Add. When done, just click OK. If you'd like, you can also check a box here to "Automatically add new recipients to my Contacts (from now on)."

Use the Quick Add Contact module at the bottom of your address book page to add new contacts quick (click the Move to the Top of the Page link if you'd like to move this whole box to the top). Just click Add when you're done!

Search for people using Yahoo! People Search. When you find a contact you would like to add, click the Add to Address Book link.

If you use Yahoo! Messenger, you can easily add contacts there, too!

Why yahoo not send e mails?

yes many similar questions but why no replies yahoo claim one particular id has no yahoo account. yet that very yahoo id is sending emails to me, it is yahoo that needs to answer not other yahoo users. yahoo provide the service,so yahoo give me a reply please

Why yahoo not send e mails?
Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. I have been advised to use this site to view my mail, www.mail2web.com if all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s... click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.

Yahoo Voice calling-A fraud BAD service?

I purchased Yahoo voice calling of US$10 in the morning. It was OK to start with. But after making few calls, my outgoing calls gets blocked. and now message is there that - Yahoo has added some money to my credit account - I need to call the credit card company and ask them amount that exact amount and then confirm same with Yahoo. When I called my credit card company, they said. no such amount has been credited to my account. Now. yahoo is bluffing here. and I need to make call right now. So i'm fully dis-satisfied with Yahoo's services and planning to move to consumer court. Also, yahoo 24 hr chat help, never gets connected. So, please help me, if someone can.

Why does Yahoo! have one of the worst records of any company in China?

For example the group Reporters without Borders has noted that Yahoo! is the worst offender in censoring information for citizens, and is in fact even worse that the local Baidu search engine (see (“Yahoo Worst in China” John Oates http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/06/16/...

Even more disturbing that censorship is the complicity of Yahoo! With the arrest of journalist Shi Tao. It is reported that Yahoo! gave the Chinese government his IP internet address (see “Yahoo, Chinese Police, and a Jailed Journalist” Robert Marquand The Christian Science Monitor).

This is a serious issue- there is no reason why the basic rights of Chinese citizens should be denied by a company that has the benefit of living in a free country. If you want to do something email customer care Yahoo! mail@cc.yahoo-inc.com and ask them why they do these things and ask them to change their policies

thanks

Why does Yahoo! have one of the worst records of any company in China?
Because China is an oppressive communist country. They sensore everything their people see, they don't want any individuality or new ideas. China is a country that forces the people to believe what they want them to believe.
Reply:stupid people only live in china. the worst kind of gov't is communist. that dumbA$$ mao zedong made it that way. they sensor everything the gov't doesnt want to see.

CHEACK THIS OUT

-go to google.cn

-go to another internet and go to google.com

-search tiananmen square for both

-look at the info they give, china gives only the atractions

USA gives the bombing and attacks what happened there.
Reply:Wicked question. I posted one not to long ago asking the same questions of google which in my opinion are equally as evil. The answer to your question is money. People, especially cororations, will do anything for money. They are slowling turning democracy and capitalism evil. It's a shame of the lack of ethics witnessed in this modern age. Shame on us all.
Reply:I dont know
Reply:Yahoo! unfortunately is a company that tends to the wants and whims of any country, be it the US or China. They really don't care about user protection like Google does. Yahoo! WILL and DO release user surfing records to any gov't asking for it without informing the user. Google does not and and so it's more respected than Yahoo!

I think the server of columbia.edu is make your yahoo id spam and he block the addres so you not receive the mails from here.

You could try to send a mail from your yahoo accout to columbia.edu server and then reply the same mail columbia.edu server to yahoo account. Or contact the columbia.edu to inform that this address is not spam.

Yahoo messenger.?

Ok, this is my old question I posted few hours ago and I already did like people said

"Is there anyone know why yahoo messenger doesn't automatically sign me in when I lick a yahoo link in messenge though I checked it in yahoo messenger preferences already. Before it was ok and automatically signed me in but just lately days it has been weird. I had three accounts on yahoo but the same passwords. When I wanted to use another account on Y!M I just needed to type new username but still keep that passsword right? It worked that way, just lately it told me to type password again even though it's the same. Also when I have new email I click on the link it doesn't take me to my yahoo account, it shows me someone's account. Is yahoo still safe to use?"

But it is still like before. Can anyone help me?

Yahoo messenger.?
Firt delet temporary files.. Than reboot your system.. Made the login again and on the configuration, say to start in automatic login...
Reply:Have you restarted your pc lately? Sometimes it fixes weird things like that.
Reply:Your query is truly tough. I would be shocked if Elvis himself could divine a cool remark for such a question.
Reply:i would really liiek to help you but i dont know about computers i just like answers and your question was too long to read through iam sorry
Reply:do not look at me i do not no what to do

Yahoo Messenger Button on Internet Explorer 7?

On my IE7 toolbar, I had home, RSS feed, print, page, tools, help (circle w/ ?) and then a drop down button with ieSpell and Yahoo. When I clicked on the Yahoo button on the drop down menu, it would activate the Yahoo messenger. I had to uninstall it and when I reinstalled Yahoo, the button was gone. I've right clicked on the toolbar and selected "customize command bar" but the Yahoo button doesn't show up as an option. The "available toolbar buttons" that are showing are separator, read mail, size, encoding, edit, cut, copy, paste, full screen and real.com. Anybody know how to get the Yahoo button back on IE7?

Yahoo Messenger Button on Internet Explorer 7?
Right click on the Tool bar and from the pop up menu check on the Yahoo Tool Bar.

Otherwise you had to download and reinstall Yahoo Tool Bar again.

Yahoo Mail AND Flickr... bug problems!?

I have contacted Yahoo Mail help about 10 consecutive e-mails and they STILL send me the useless form-letter replies. Here is the bug.

When I use my Yahoo Mail and want to use the 'nickname' feature, it always works and is very nice to have.

When I have Yahoo Mail open, and then I am signed into my Flickr Pro account, all of the sudden the 'nicknames' option NEVER WORKS.

If I sign out of Flickr... wow, the nicknames work again.

I am so tired of Yahoo Mail's help center NOT addressing this issue.

I am trying to HELP them locate a bug, not annoy them with something I cannot answer on my own. There has to be a lot of Flickr users that also have Yahoo Mail and have noticed the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!

Does anyone know how to get a REAL response from Yahoo Mail Help??

These form-letter responses are getting very annoying.

Yahoo Mail AND Flickr... bug problems!?
Yahoo has been having major server issues since at LEAST Jan. 10, seemingly just with particular servers. And what's happening to you is unfortunately one of the many problems that people are having because of them, and Yahoo doesn't seem to be in any particular hurry to solve them. And the problems are not just w/Yahoo Beta or IE7; I and others not using either are having similar problems. But both do have more problems; if you're using Beta, it's still in the testing stage and has a lot of problems, so go back to original Yahoo mail, and the same w/IE7, go back to IE6 until MS irons out all the problems.

I've had to use another acct.provided free by my ISP to send/rcv important e-mails since Jan. 10, and it's been working just fine the whole time. If you don't have another acct.w/another provider besides Yahoo, I'd strongly advise to get one; it makes a good backup in case of problems like this.

Please see my posting from Fri. Jan. 12 under the heading "Anyone having problems of any kind w/Yahoo Mail, PLEASE READ THIS" for more info and on reporting problems to Yahoo.

Since that original posting, they've also sent another e-mail that they've escalated the problem (or should I say problems!) to their engineering department, which is an indication of major problems, and not just a minor S/W "glitch." And again, these problems are not exclusive to Yahoo's Beta, but it does seem to compound the existing problems. This would indicate to me that there are also compatibility issues btwn. the H/W and S/W, besides the server problems.

So it's not anything you're doing, your computer, or your internet connection, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And BTW, deleting temp files (which your computer automatically does anyway every time you shut down your computer), cookies, or history will absolutely NOT fix the problem, nor will running disk cleanup or defrag.
Reply:My pleaure, and couldn't agree more about them being honest. And sincere thanx, my friend, for the vote, rating, and nice words, and your votes on other A's are always appreciated. Sincerely,

Yahoo groups and non yahoo members?

Hi, I’m going to set up a yahoo group for a small youth club, I wanted to know if I could get non yahoo account holders to also join the group. a small handful of people in the club don’t have yahoo accounts, I know that they can still get messages sent to a hotmail account, but is there any way for them to actually log in and look at all the features like "files", "calendar" etc without a yahoo id ?

I don’t want to make them sign up to yahoo but if it’s not possible can anyone think of another way to get us all able to see messages, photos and calendars without having to use lots of different programs.

Thanks

- free things are good, it’s a youth group and its non profit.

Yahoo groups and non yahoo members?
Any email account can join by sending an email to groupname-subscribe@yahoogroups.com (and unsubscribe similarly with groupname-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com). No Yahoo ID required.

You can set your archives to be available to anyone, so that they can access that without a Yahoo ID.

Links and Calendar can both be set to public, but polls, photos/files, and the database can only be used by logged-in Yahoo members.
Reply:non yahoo members can join, but their use of the group will be limited. they wont be able to use group features and in order to post, they'll have to do it from right off the group, not through e-mail

"YAHOO LOTTO PROMOTION is it a scam?
Of course it is !

...Usually such fakes were identified by the simple query : 'How can one win in such a Lottery, without even submitting one's e-ID ?'

This scammer seems to have found a way of avoiding this, by including the phrase that the winner(s) were selected through an "Electronic Balloting System Without The Winner Applying" !

That's the only new trick used in this SPAM !

Reply:This is a SCAM. Check out the below link for confirmation of various scams, including the famous Yahoo/MSN lottery scam and how to report them.

http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/lo...

Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Just remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. I suggest you delete the email and send it into cyberspace, hopefully along with the thieving scumbags who send them.

Reply:I got the same thing and reported it as a scam. If it looks like a scam and sounds like a scam then more than likely it is a scam. By the way, do you remember entering this contest? My guess is "NO".
Reply:Its a scam no doubt..
Reply:Of course it is. The object is identity theft.

Yahoo does not run lotteries, and certainly does not give money away.
Reply:It's definitely a scam

I can't believe people still fall for this

One rule of thumb - if you didn't solicit it, it's a scam!
Reply:When did you enter the Yahoo Lottery and give your e-mail? I haven't seen a chance to enter. It would be worth it for a chance for a million. Yes it is a scam of the truest proportion. Would surprise you how many greedy people want something for nothing and will respondm then send in the transfer fee of several hundred dollars, or will give their complete bank account info on request.
Reply:It's a scam sad to say.
