Yahoo does not recognize my macromedia flash player is installed. Why?

Although I have downloaded Macromedia's Flash Player by following the links in the Yahoo Help page, every time I attempt to view a video on Yahoo I get the following error message:

"Want to watch a video?

Your system is currently unable

to play the selected video

Please visit the help page

to find a solution.

Get Help Now."

I click the "Get Help Now" link and get the following message:

"Yahoo Video requires the following components to provide an optimum video experience. To download these free software applications, click the links below...

Yahoo requires Macromedia Flash Player version 8: Action necessary. Macromedia Flash Player needs to be upgraded / installed on your computer.

Click the link below for a free download of the latest Macromedia Flash Player."

I click the link and have downloaded the Flash Player several times by following the link on Yahoo's help page and I still get the error message everytime I try to view a video on Yahoo.
