Turning off Chat in Yahoo Mail Beta?

Overall, I prefer the interface in Yahoo Mail Beta to the original mail interface.





Where I live, Hi-speed internet is not an option. Even Satellite Carriers have problems out here. Yahoo Mail Beta takes about 10-15 minutes to load the first time I start my computer, always hanging up on "chat".





Yes, I have plenty of Cache; but for some reason Yahoo mail will not save in cache.





When i've already been in Yahoo mail, and I close the tab, the time to load yahoo mail drops to about 4 or 5 minutes. This is much faster, but still too long to work with.





Yahoo Chat also wreaks havoc with my Yahoo Messenger, Which I prefer in the first place. I've checked other answers on the subject, and disconnecting myself from yahoo chat does not work.





My Yahoo Beta will automatically try to log me back in about every half hour or so, disconnect me from my messenger program and take up system resources.





I just want to permanently disable chat in Yahoo Mail.





Any Help or suggestion?

How do I sign out of/disable chat?





See the smiley face next to your user name at the top of the mail page? Click it – then click Sign out of chat. (If you never signed in, the face is gray and sleeping...meaning you're already signed out/disabled.)





Since Yahoo! Mail remembers your settings from session to session, you'll be signed out of chat until you change it.

BTW, it doesn't work for me either. Everytime I check my mail, it signs me into the web chat. Annoying as hell. Report It

Reply:Yes, It doesn't work for me either. I "sign out" of chat but when I go to Yahoo mail the next time, it tries to sign me in again. It's very frustrating. Report It

Reply:Same happens for me.. I even tried disconnecting and then signing out of yahoo to see if THAT saved it.. and it didn't. Yahoo's chat feature is f**king broken and they won't fix their stupid sh*t! Report It
