Yahoo IM - server says always busy for webcam!?

I'm using the newest version of Yahoo Messenger with Voice (Beta) 8.0.0.506 with My Yahoo Module 7.5.0.1 and it keeps saying server busy whenever I try to use to share my webcam with a friend abroad. I also cannot see her webcam. But if we use Skype and talk, we can see each other using the webcams.





However, since she is at her work (it's her day and my night), she can't talk so we usually chat and use webcams to just see each other. We've been using Yahoo IM for chatting and webcam and it was working for fine for a year but now it consistently doesn't work -- always says server busy.





I've been trying to to find a replacement for Yahoo IM for online chatting and using webcam but haven't found a good one that seems to have good servers.





Does anyone have any suggestions for a good online video chatting software or know what the problem may be with Yahoo IM?

I had a similar problem..sometimes you have to go to add and remove programs and install then reinstall the yahoo messenger ..YES its a pain in the *** but its better that way then maybe your web cam will be detected through the yahoo once you have reinstalled it..best of luck ...Misty~*
Reply:several things you can try.





1.Make sure that the web cam drivers are not corrupted.


2. if there is a software came along with the webcam, make sure through that software you are able to access webcam.


3. go to yahoo and install the latest version and ask the lady to do the same.


4. make sure webcam is physically connected and the light indicating that its connected is turned on.
