Yahoo Groups Experience?

My Fellow Group moderators at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/newedgecaf... (5 of us) have for the last week been conducting an informal review of our groups BOUNCING members and group owners posting to Yahoo’s MODERATOR BOARDS (e.g. There's something new for moderators! Learn, share, and take your group to new heights with Moderator Central. Check it out.)

What we have found is disturbing.

First – we sent an invite to all the folks who have posted on yahoo moderator central since February – the result- out of 677 people posing as moderators - 238 e mail addresses came back to us as DOESN’T HAVE A YAHOO ID.

Additionally we sent out a communiqué from our small business Yahoo E mail administration e mail to 435 newdgecafe group members - We have not heard a word back from any of these people – and only 4 rejected e mails bounced back from this mailing as DOESN’T HAVE A YAHOO ID – STATISCALLY we should at least have gotten back 2% response from th

You do not need a Yahoo ID in order to post to the Yahoo Moderator Boards. Anybody can post. Furthermore, you don't have to be a moderator in order to join the board.

Now, you may wonder why anybody who is not a moderator would want to join the board. The answer is simple. They want to collect information or names, or they want to use the information on their own Topica groups or Googlegroups.

As far as the emailing to 435 newdgecafe group members:

They are not likely to respond. They are in the group in order to collect information, not to share it. Don't expect responses from them.
Reply:you should tell them over at group suggestions
