Yahoo! Anwsers Free Gift, Legit?
A lot of us have had that..it says that it is to celebrate the 1st year of Y/A in the UK but it has been going for a lot longer than 1 yr in the UK,they ask for things like your password which worries me so I have deleted it suspecting a scam as the whole page from them looks very unprofessional
Reply:I did wonder at the time. I replied to it. I did NOT give my password however, I gave my UserID as that is what was asked for - not your password.

Curiosity killed the cat but we will have to wait and see I guess!

However, if it is a scam, what can they possibly gain from it... provided you have not given your Password away?
Reply:dont be scared just ignore it its a fake x
Reply:i got this yesterday and posted the same question, most people believe it to be a scam so i deleted my email as spam and sent it to yahoo, they got back to me and said thanks we will look into this, nothing about it being genuine.
Reply:I am unsure has yesterday there was a notice up about the email.I have filled it in giving my user name not password. Will have to wait %26amp; see has some people say it's spam %26amp; some say its legit.Yahoo should post another blog up to either confirm or say it's spam.
Reply:Yes, we all know what it says, and if you go a bit further they want all your personal details in exchange for a crappy T-shirt - why else would they want to know your size? I mean, why not ask your penis size, so I think that asking your t-shirt size is a good enough clue that the "prize" is a T-shirt. I can hardly contain my indifference !-

I see the thumbs down children are about !
Reply:It didn't ask for my password so I must have received something different.
Reply:Dear Tomgman,

Please read our Blog post on this subject: http://uk.blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-qT1KKP...

If the email you received is of the exact format described in that post, we'd like to reassure you that it is genuine.

Reply:I think it is, but not sure.
Reply:Yes I got it yesterday. Was suspicious so did not answer. I would have thought a genuine offer would have been publicised on the home page.
Reply:Sounds true, but everything that sounds 2 good 2 b true isn't always real. Why not contact Yahoo through their comment and suggestion section?I think I would b a little afraid. U don't want 2 get spammed they are getting better. **** luck
Reply:You do have a lot of points. I haven't received such an email but then I am quite new to this. I would try contacting yahoo first to check, there are a lot of dodgy scams out there. I hope for your sake it is true and something nice.
Reply:I had this the other day and was wondering. I was sure Yahoo answers birthday was sometime last December. Thanks for the info I'll report it and delete it.
Reply:Beware of any mail soliciting for your existing password, you gotta be extremely careful! Scammers are professionals with amazing wits, they 're all over the globe. I 'll counsel that you should give any mail soliciting for your password a benefit of doubt. I do always.
Reply:scam scam scam i hate emails like that they make you a wreck i got an email once saying a fella had died in nigeria and his 18 million dollars was mine if i would act as his next of kin lmao obviously i didnt do it best to be safe than sorry mate get it checked take care i hope its a real email and a nice gift you recieve
Reply:It's fake. Y!Answers 1st birthday was LAST year on December 13.
Reply:It's a Scam Report it to Yahoo.

Reply:I had a similar thing saying yahoo was a year old to be honest i just ignored it. I think i probably should have reported it though!
Reply:looks bogus to me...yahoo emails ALL end in @yahoo.com not yahoo-email.com ... I'd be weary.
