Yahoo messenger needs proxy info?!?

So previously I have been using the yahoo messenger thing that is inside the new yahoo mail. I just decided to download the yahoo messenger 9.0, and i have been having problems logging in. Here is what happens:





1) I click start, etc, and open Yahoo Messenger 9.0


2) I type in my yahoo id


3) I type in my password.


4) I click sign in


5) A little box pops up that says: Yahoo! Messenger can't connect. We were not able to sign you in to yahoo! Mdoem Users: (A button that says "try again") Please make sure you are online and then try again. LAN/Firewall Users (button that says "Setup_Proxy") If you know your proxy settings, you can configure them here. (A button that says help) Need more help? Get it here.


6) I clicked "setup_Proxy" (thinking i could try to adjust my firewall settings)


7) Now a bigger box pops up and says "Connection"


8) I can choose "No proxies" (which is currently selected) "firewall with no proxys" (i have tried that and it hasn't worked) "use proxies" (this is

All you should need is the no proxies setting.Besides that your messing with a new messenger.Which i tell everyone to stay away from till they get all the bugs out of them.There was no new to upgrade to the new 9 or even the 8.1 I still use the 7 and never any problems.Want to change back to 7. http://au.messenger.yahoo.com
